Solon Community Housing Corporation

Supporting independent senior living in Solon through community-driven housing solutions.

For years, the Solon Community Housing Corporation has worked to ensure that older adults in our community have access to safe, affordable housing that allows them to remain independent and connected to the community. Our goal of moving forward is simple: to protect the success of our existing buildings while responsibly expanding housing opportunities for seniors in the Solon community.

Existing Housing in Solon

The SCHC organization currently owns and operates 21 senior housing units in Solon, and these units have remained fully occupied for many years. In addition, we maintain a consistent waiting list of individuals hoping for the opportunity to live in our community.

This demand clearly demonstrates that more age-friendly housing is needed. Without new development, many seniors may be forced to relocate away from the community they helped build—leaving behind neighbors, friends, churches, and local connections that are vital to quality of life.

Expanding housing options is essential if Solon is to remain a welcoming and supportive community for residents of all ages.

Our Solution

Windflower Commons will include 21 apartment homes designed to support safe, comfortable living for seniors. The development will feature a mix of studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom apartments with layouts that prioritize accessibility and ease of use for aging residents.

  • Affordable rental rates for seniors.

  • Safe and accessible apartment design to support aging in place.

  • Comfortable living spaces that promote independence.

  • Shared community gathering areas that encourage social connection.

Windflower Commons will expand the existing housing campus operated by the Solon Community Housing Corporation, adding on to an already successful model of community-based senior housing in Solon.

Construction is expected to begin once fundraising and financing are secured, with the goal of welcoming residents in 2027.
